Kepler Mission was designed to detect extrasolar planets revolving around stars other than our sun. Its search was focused on detecting the planets that had similar size as Earth and are located in the habitable zone around a star. The mission was launched in March 2009 (NASA, n.d.) with the launch of Kepler space telescope, the mission remained active for more than nine years and stopped working in October 2018 after the spacecraft fuel ran out. The spacecraft carried out two missions detecting a large number of extrasolar planets and supporting numerous peer reviewed articles (Walbolt, 2020).
